Hertz International Franchise Convention 2011

Challenge

  • Maximise communication and networking opportunities at a global, regional and local level
  • Build a sense of community around the Hertz brand
  • Provide sponsors with meaningful networking time with the franchisees
  • Communicate strategic messages and guiding business principles

Solution

  • Hedsor House, quintessentially English, overlooking the river Thames, was the perfect venue to reflect the 2011 theme 'Making History!' The convention opened with a 'sponsors village' networking event and a partner programme which included spa experiences, and a Windsor and Eton tour. In the evening, guests gathered for a magical Georgian themed dinner, complete with period costumed footmen, a string quartet, jugglers, strongmen and magicians.

The following day offered more conference and networking opportunities, followed by traditional outdoor pursuits of clay pigeon shooting, archery and a falconry display. The convention reached its climax with a highly energised 'Urban' themed gala dinner with street dancers, beat boxers, an interactive graffiti wall and a jaw-dropping fireworks display.

Grass Roots fully project managed all aspects of event management, logistics, communications, IT and delegate care. The 190 delegates were able to register and book on-line via a dedicated web portal, which accepted all their travel and personal information.

Results

  • Feedback showed that the franchisees left the convention feeling more engaged and passionate about Hertz.
  • Of those delegates that responded, the overall event organisation and on-site service was rated more than 8 out of 10.
